Providence Department Liaison Hospital Billing *Telecommute* in Vancouver, Washington


Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Department Liaison Hospital Billing. This is a remote work position and we accept candidates from AK, MT, OR, WA, CA, TX, and NM.

We are seeking a Department Liaison Hospital Billing who will serve as the primary billing office contact to discuss and resolve issues with charging departments in the ministries, HIM, and physician offices (customers). This position will also serve as a resource for AR Specialists when issues need to be escalated that involve resolution with customers.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Serves as the primary department contact with customers (charging departments, HIM coding, or physician offices).

  • Reviews requests regarding billing edits with input from customers.

  • Reviews escalated requests from AR Specialist, makes account corrections, or obtains input from customers for instructions to the AR Specialist.

  • Processes charge credits and debits.

  • Evaluates late charges (adjustments vs billing).

  • Researches patient inquiries regarding services by confirming charges via medical records or direct contact with applicable customer.


  • A/R days.

  • Unnecessary write offs.

  • Denial rates.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • 2 years overall experience in a large and complex acute care setting, knowledge of billing requirements and experience with the various system applications needed to perform the duties of the position.

  • Key experience highlights must include:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of claims billing including Federal, State and local laws and regulations.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • College coursework.
